Organize your website before Website Promotion & Marketing by doing a few important updates and optimizations to help establish trust and value

Are you planning Website Promotion & Marketing? If you are then there are several things to keep in mind before you start that campaign.

Website Promotion & Marketing via social media or traditional marketing methods, is best done after your site is 100% organized and with SEO in place. Your site must  present well to both potential site visitors and to the Google Search Engine. By doing that, you make it easier for your readers and for search engines to find your content.

When considering a promotion campaign, consider scanning your site page by page as if you are a customer and ask yourself these questions:

• Is it easy for site visitors to navigate your site and to find the information they are searching for?
• Is your content written with SEO in mind?
• Are your keywords within your copy, titles, headings, sub-headings and in the first paragraph of each article?
• Are all of your links working and logical?
• Are you using images effectively?
• Are your images the correct file size (not too small or too big, and in some cases, the same size.)?
• Do your images have descriptive alt tags?
• Does your site load fast?
• Does your site display on all screen sizes correctly?

These are just a few questions you should ask yourself before promoting a site.

Your site is like the front door to your brick and mortar business

If someone visits your site and one answer to the above questions is “no” then your site will not look trustworthy and visitors will bounce away never to return. Also, Google will not pick your site to show up on a Google Search Results Page because it is not relevant. Your potential visitor will choose another site to do business with.
